GEM is a priced service used to find scientific, technical and medical information.
Choose from:
- Command Search - use command language for a detailed search
- Easy Search - use a point and click interface for a quick search.
Both search options are available for all GEM databases. You can switch from one to the other at any time during your search.
Subject areas include: Aerospace, Building and Construction, Chemistry, Engineering, Environment, Food Science and Technology, Geology, Health and Safety, Medicine, Materials, Physics and Transportation.
Most databases are bibliographic - providing detailed references to articles, conference papers, books and reports.
New databases are added regularly.
Prices vary according to the database used, see your National Centre's Price List for details. Customer are invoiced monthly.
A network of National Centres provides local support and documentation and online help is available.
GEM is provided by the EINS (European Information Network Services) organisation. EINS is a consortium of Service Providers (online host systems), and technical, administrative and marketing centres.
